"Eroticism is close to life, closer than philosophy or anything like that, it's an animal thing that has many facets and is pleasing to use, as you would use a tube of paint". Marcel Duchamp

The Story

The more I looked at this artwork, the more it seemed erotic to me. I wanted to find a word to describe that eroticism. Whilst researching, I came across a scientific paper on spermatazoa in which the word "hyperactivation"" jumped out. Wikipedia describes "hyperactivation" as a type of sperm motility characterised by a high amplitude, asymmetrical beating pattern of the sperm tail. This seemed to describe the excitement, joy and the life in this work. Maybe I am the only one who sees this as the viewer.

Paintings on Water Collection

The Paintings on Water series explores the natural world as a source of abstraction in art. I propose that abstract painting is not merely an act of unconscious imagination by an artist but rather the result of subconscious observations grounded in reality. These works are a visual expression of how the mind perceives and interprets the world. Using a modern tool—the digital camera—I have captured the unconscious abstractions found in nature. These images invite viewers to engage their own perceptions, contemplating what these organic forms and patterns represent.
