The Story
The artwork is a photo of a hull of a boat and its reflection on the surface of the water. On the one hand, it pays homage to the work of Mark Rothko, the American abstract expressionist who was considered the main influencer amongst the colour field painters in the last century and on the other, it is inspired by the great Australian landscape painter Tim Storrier. His style was to accentuate the intricacies of the Australian outback landscape in an epic manner.
