The Story
Titling this artwork was not straightforward. At first, I was drawn to the ochres and golds of Sydney sandstone in the reflection, but the image seemed to hold something more. The longer I looked, the more it felt like an aerial view — water becoming land, reflection becoming sandstone. Out of that recognition emerged the sense of an aerial petroglyph — fragile traces inscribed by water, carrying echoes of ancient motifs and markings I explore further in this blog article.
