“The terrifying and edible beauty of Art Nouveau architecture..” – Salvador Dali

The Story

The artwork is a reflection off the water from the canals in the so-called “Venice” of Portugal Aveiro of the Art Nouveau houses lining the much of the city’s canals. The inspiration for the work comes from the Art Nouveau artists such as Gustav Klimt., Toulouse -Lautrec and the father of Art Nouveau architecture, Victor Horta.

About the Urban Reflections Collection

Urban Reflections captures the unexpected poetry found in the built environment — moments where glass, metal, shadow and movement distort the city into something abstract, contemplative and beautifully unfamiliar. These works transform architecture into living geometry, revealing the emotional undercurrents of modern life through colour, pattern and reflection. Each piece invites the viewer to slow down, look deeper, and discover the hidden rhythms within the structures that shape our world.
