Ralph Kerle Gallery partners with Art Money - the Afterpay of the art market

Ralph Kerle Gallery partners with Art Money - the Afterpay of the art market

Ralph Kerle Gallery is delighted to have been accepted as a partner in Art Money, a relatively new yet quickly expanding art global fin-tech based on a business model similar to Afterpay and other more traditional “buy now, pay later” fin-tech operations. Art Money was founded in 2015 by Australian entrepreneur Paul Becker in 2015, an old boy of my own alma mater, and has already partnered with over 1,000 galleries worldwide, growing daily, currently enabling art buyers from Australia, the U.S. and New Zealand. The entry price point for collectible artworks often precludes potential buyers from purchasing an artwork they like just at the right moment whether on exhibition in a gallery or for sale in an on-line gallery. The purpose of Art Money is to make the purchase accessible by offering 10 interest free part payments over 10 months. Art Money sees their external mission as empowering people to buy art and supporting artists in developing a sustainable creative economy. All artwork offered by Ralph Kerle Gallery can now be purchased through Art Money. Read here in more detail how Art Money works and its terms and conditions.

Ralph Kerle Gallery Opens

Ralph Kerle Gallery Opens

My name is Indra Wills, the newly appointed Gallery Manager of the Ralph Kerle Gallery, Double Bay, Sydney. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, to share some of the evening’s experiences, and to write about future plans designed for the new gallery. Our wonderful opening event took place on December 10, launching Ralph Kerle’s Gallery announcing our ongoing funding and awareness raising association with the Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation. We would like to thank all those who attended and made the night a great success. A special thank you to our friend Susan Bruce, Owner of Poachers Pantry and Poachers Winery, who kept our glasses full with delicious red, white and sparkling! [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="2500"] Stays Afloat [/caption] On the night, we were joined by guest speakers Linda Fagan, CEO of the Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation and Dr Con Petsoglou, one of Sydney’s leading eye surgeons who counts Ralph among his patients. Linda outlined the foundation’s role in raising funds, and Dr Petsoglou spoke about how our sight translates images back to our brain, acting as our first perspective on the world. In his explanation, we learnt that Ralph’s eye condition, keratoconus, means that his visual world is fringed by small halos around the edges of objects, pictures and indeed reflections as opposed to the straight lines or “straightness”of those with normal sight. Dr Petsolglou highlighted the curved, and wavy illustrative qualities of artworks;  ‘Stays Afloat’ and ‘Captain C Gull on the Helm – the Epic View’ as being representative of the sight a person suffering keratoconus has. In response, Ralph talked of his philosophy, practise and the perceptions associated with his artwork. He is currently working on an article detailing these themes, which will be available to enjoy in the new year. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="2271"] Captain C. Gull On the Watch - The Epic View [/caption] The presentations evoked such a high level of thought-provoking conversations among guests during the evening that Dr Petsoglou and Ralph have agreed to work on a series of videos around the theme of the science of sight and how art informs its development.

Announcing the Opening of the Ralph Kerle Gallery

Ralph Kerle GalleryThe Cosmopolitan22 Knox Street, Double Bay.New South Wales, Australia 2068 With travel in and out of Australia banned, the Australian art world is benefiting. Anecdotally through networks, it seems money spent on travel is being reallocated in particular to home decor - the living space - to make it more aesthetically and environmentally appealing as the pandemic curtails public entertainment and safe socializing occurs in a domestic setting.Against this backdrop, I was offered the opportunity to open an exhibition art gallery in the iconic Cosmopolitan Centre, 22 Knox Street, Double Bay, Sydney as part of its refurbishment plan.It may be considered foolhardy to open a new business in this economic environment. However, artists need their works to be seen in situ, to allow the works to reveal their full impact and this location is perfect for that purpose and Covid safe. When in Sydney, pop in and say hullo, 7 days after midday until 8.00pm. There is a red or white on the table for those so inclined.

New International Representation for Ralph Kerle's Art

New International Representation for Ralph Kerle's Art

Good news emerged during the pandemic in June 2020 with two new business collaborations confirmed. SultanDelon Fine Arts agreed to represent Ralph Kerle’s Art in Florida USA. Really worth having a look at the Sultan Delon web site. They currently have an excellent exhibition of four women artists on-line. An added benefit of this representation is my work is now listed on Artsy, the leading high end on-line art platform for art collectors, leading art galleries and museums in America. The Artling, Singapore’s leading contemporary on-line art gallery, has chosen to represent my art as part of their curated on-line platform and under the heading “artists to watch out for” featured my work the Yellow Masked Mast in their July 3 Global newsletter.

Auctioning Burning Outback for Bushfire Relief Funds

Auctioning Burning Outback for Bushfire Relief Funds

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1200"] Burning Outback Artist’s Proof 1 [/caption] Like many others, I want to make a contribution to show my gratitude for the extraordinary work and bravery shown by Australia's volunteer firefighters and to those affected by the catastrophe upon us. I have created a new piece "Burning Outback" as a reflection on these events and am offering the signed, original number 1 artist's proof, a Giclee print 110 x 75cm in an on-line auction with the funds raised from the auction to go directly to the Trustee for NSW Rural Fire Service & Brigades Donations Fund for distribution in accordance with their priorities and needs. As someone who is interest in my work, I thought you might like to participate in this on-line auction with the potential of owning the highly valued number 1 artists's proof of this new work whilst contributing to and assisting those Australians so badly affected by these events. A story of kindness to go with the artwork! The artwork will be featured in my upcoming Art Palm Beach Florida USA exhibition from January 28 through February 3 2020. The most successful bidder will be announced on February 10, 2019 and I will cover freight costs to anyone in the world.

The Opening of the Art of Navy Exhibition

The Opening of the Art of Navy Exhibition

I was absolutely honoured to have the Chief of Navy open the Art of Navy exhibition at the Australian National Maritime Museum to-day The people I have to thank for this wonderful project and not necessarily in this order are Rear Admiral Mark Hammond who had a hunch; Malcolm Moir, a long time friend and Head of Foundation and Development, Australian National Maritime Museum; Alexandra Gaffikin, Head of Design and Interpretation who smiled when I showed her the original works and told me the reason - "not at all what I was expecting and I love it..." An absolute delight to work with Alex. The Navy team who were given responsibility for the delivery of the project - Captain Charlie Stephenson and especially Commander Natasha Burney. Neither Charlie nor Natasha had previously worked in the arts or with an artist and yes, we had some difficult discussions. However I couldn't have asked for better support in the end. I learnt much about Navy personnel that has changed my mind about those who enter the defence forces and serve our nation. And last but most importantly the great creative team I worked with and who now will receive the accolades they deserve. Poet Andy Singh who gave me the narrative for the works; filmmaker Larry Meltzer who made a superb 8 minute film the Making of the Art of Navy that is accompanying the exhibition; Graham Maslen and Steven Smedley book publisher and graphic designer respectively, Dr Gary Willisn who wrote an erudite critical essay on the work and its themes. Donald Robertson, book editor who was late for the opening and thus missed all the photo opportunities whilst making a huge difference to the book content. At least we made the book deadline, Donald Robertson! Stefan Kahn, exhibition design and last and most importantly, the artwork fabricators, Flash Graphics and in particular owner, Fredrik Uden who turned my photographs into sculptural artworks!! More details at the Art of Navy web site. The exhibition runs to October 30, 2019.

The Enter Art Foundation’s “42 Contemporary Artists” Exhibition, Berlin Art Week 2018

A selection of shots from the Enter Art Foundation exhibition “42 Contemporary Artists”, a vital part of the Berlin Art Week. The Enter Art Foundation is a unique Berlin based not for profit visual art organisation founded with the express purpose of curating exhibitions designed to introduce the work of emerging artists to European audiences. As Gunter Sachs said “ even with technology, emerging artists are still the hardest to find and are almost invisible to the public”. Head Curator, Dr Suzy Royal’s role is to select between 30 to 40 artists from the hundreds of submissions she receives and to curate those works into a reflection of the Enter Art Foundation manifesto. The works of the selected artists are actively promoted by EAF in a series of exhibitions that so far in 2018 have included Stockholm Art Week and Bonn. I am honoured to have been selected as one of the emerging artists and to have had my artwork featured in the marketing promotion for the exhibition and the Berlin Art Week 2018, a whole of city celebration.
