Giclee print on museum quality archival paper - Giclee Print on Hahnemeuhle German Etching Rag 310gsm

The Story

The artwork is a photo of the fascias of the houses that are located on Rua Joao Mendonca, Aveiro Portugal. The work pays homage to the style of 19th Century French impressionist, Claude Monet and his paintings of buildings built beside or on the water. The work represents to me a mythical water landscape that was conjured up by the French writer and poet Jules Verne in his very popular 1870 novel, Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea.

About the Urban Reflections Collection

Urban Reflections captures the unexpected poetry found in the built environment — moments where glass, metal, shadow and movement distort the city into something abstract, contemplative and beautifully unfamiliar. These works transform architecture into living geometry, revealing the emotional undercurrents of modern life through colour, pattern and reflection. Each piece invites the viewer to slow down, look deeper, and discover the hidden rhythms within the structures that shape our world.
