“I am nature….” – Jackson Pollock

The Story

Pollock’s Pool is a limited-edition artwork that captures the sea as both canvas and collaborator. Created during the Art of Navy projection project, the work reflects an ever-shifting abstraction of light, sky, and hidden forms beneath the water. Its ripples and refractions echo Jackson Pollock’s radical gestures, revealing energy, chance, and transformation in perpetual motion. This edition invites collectors to experience water as abstraction—an image that seems painted by the sea itself.

About the Paintings on Water Collection

The Paintings on Water series explores the natural world as a source of abstraction in art. I propose that abstract painting is not merely an act of unconscious imagination by an artist but rather the result of subconscious observations grounded in reality. These works are a visual expression of how the mind perceives and interprets the world. Using a modern tool—the digital camera—I have captured the unconscious abstractions found in nature. These images invite viewers to engage their own perceptions, contemplating what these organic forms and patterns represent.
