Edition 3/5
"… I think of land as the history of my nation.” Galarrwuy Yunipingu
The Story
As I photograph the foreshore of Sydney's Middle Harbour, I am transported into the world of its original inhabitants. It is believed that over 6,000 Australian Aboriginal drawings, most of which are carved into sandstone rock faces, once existed throughout what is now Sydney.
The title of the artwork is borrowed from Tyson Yunkaporta's book,Sand Talk: How Indigenous Thinking Can Save the World.

Paintings on Water Collection
The Paintings on Water series explores the natural world as a source of abstraction in art. I propose that abstract painting is not merely an act of unconscious imagination by an artist but rather the result of subconscious observations grounded in reality. These works are a visual expression of how the mind perceives and interprets the world. Using a modern tool—the digital camera—I have captured the unconscious abstractions found in nature. These images invite viewers to engage their own perceptions, contemplating what these organic forms and patterns represent.
