The Golden Trilobite
Signed Limited Edition 1 of 10
110 x 120 cm
Giclee print on museum quality archival paper - Giclee Print on Hahnemeuhle German Etching Rag 310gsm
"The eye of the trilobite tells us that the sun shone on the old beach where he lived; for there is nothing in nature without a purpose, and when so complicated an organ was made to receive the light, there must have been light to enter it” – Louis Agassiz, (1807 - 1873) Swiss born American biologist and geologist
The Story
I struggled with the naming of this artwork, the first new work of 2024. I saw primitive brilliant lit shapes on the water surface, forming and flowing and yet the patterns did not yield a distinct phrase or word to describe what I was seeing. And then my wife visited the studio and said that's a trilobite - just like that!
About the Urban Reflections Collection
Urban Reflections transforms city architecture, glass and light into abstract water reflection art. Buildings and bridges dissolve into colour, line and movement, becoming contemporary urban abstract wall art and city reflection prints. These works bring a metropolitan energy to a space while still holding the fluid, meditative quality of water.
