The Story
The photograph of a yacht’s hull and a damaged rotting boom cover hanging off the side of the vessel was taken during the Syria conflict. In the reflection, I saw conflagration and destruction on the left side of the artwork flowing into an unknowable darkness in the middle right.
The possibility of resilience, reconciliation & peace is where red resists this darkness, emerging into a positive flow of love. Red speaks of love and power - a positive hope for humanity. Today, this work speaks to the Russian Ukrainian conflict.
