The Story
I have written a more extensive explanation of the importance of this new work rather than provide the usual short commentary. Inspired from personal visits in October and November 2023 to the Rothko Chapel, Houston Texas, USA and the Rothko Retrospective now showing at the Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris. This work deepens my connection to Rothko’s work and furthers the bond between the natural abstraction of the photography and the colour field paintings.
