Outside the Watership
“Science is no more than an investigation of a miracle we can never explain, and art is an interpretation of that miracle”. ― Ray Bradbury, American, author and screenwriter.
Limited edition 1 of 10
90 × 85cm
The Story
When I took this photograph while kayaking, it felt like I was floating in space, seeing the world through a cosmic lens. The reflections and light on the water reminded me of looking at Earth from above—distant yet familiar. Outside the Watership is my way of capturing that feeling of being between two worlds.
I've written more about the creative experience here: Read the story.
Part of the Offshore Aerial Collection
The artworks that form the OffShore Aerial Collection suggest an aerial view of an unknown and unknowable coastline.
Each work consists of abstractions found in reflections on the surface of water. The images are not photo-shopped or artificially created. They are images nature has created at a moment in time and exist in reality.. There is no right or wrong way to view the work. Each piece is designed for viewers to form their own meaning through the image's shape, colour and form. The works purpose is to encourage pleasurable aesthetic mediation and connection.
