Power is the courage to commit all.

One ocean, one navy, one name, two wars, two ships, two lonely battles, two outcomes—celebration and sorry.

HMAS Sydney peels off from the convoy and commits all at the Cocos. Victory.

Twenty-seven years later on the same ocean, a ship with the same name, again commits all in the name of battle.

This time the loss is complete.
