The Sea Water Salt Lake

Edition 1/10
Museum quality archival acid free Giclee fine art paper on Hahnemeuhle German Edition Etching Rag 310gsm
The Story
The artwork is a photograph of the reflection of a yacht's boom cover on the surface of the water on a grey day. It is inspired by the work of Australian/Dutch photographer, Richard Woldendorpwhose aerial shots in the 50 and 60s of the Western Australian outback became the model for the drone shots of to-day. My brain conjured up a salt lake in the centre of Australia taken from the air.

Paintings on Water Collection
The Paintings on Water series explores the natural world as a source of abstraction in art. I propose that abstract painting is not merely an act of unconscious imagination by an artist but rather the result of subconscious observations grounded in reality. These works are a visual expression of how the mind perceives and interprets the world. Using a modern tool—the digital camera—I have captured the unconscious abstractions found in nature. These images invite viewers to engage their own perceptions, contemplating what these organic forms and patterns represent.
